Boston Red Sox Distribute World Series Rings

Thursday April 14, 2005
The Boston Red Sox reportedly purchased about 500 championship rings to commemorate their 2004 World Series win. The rings were distributed this week to players, coaches and others associated with the team.

The rings are said to be made of 18K gold and adorned with 1.89 carats of small diamonds. Two carats of small rubies form the letter B, which is centered on the diamond encrusted baseball diamond that's featured on top of each ring. Wording on each ring includes the recipient's name and the phrases Greatest Comeback in History, 8 Straight Wins and 4-0 Sweep.

The rings were made by Jostens, the same company many Super Bowl winners have used to create their championship rings. Jostens is a popular manufacturer of class rings and sports rings for high schools, colleges and other types of schools and organizations.

Take a look at photos of past Super Bowl rings and see rings you can order yourself in Class Ring Trends.
