Before You Buy a Color Diamond

Forget everything you've heard about the way white diamonds are judged, because fancy color diamonds are priced and graded using a different set of guidelines. Color diamonds made by nature exist in many colors, and some of them -- like red -- are extremely rare. Yellow diamonds are more plentiful than red, except when they are vivid yellows -- when it occurs naturally you can label that color scarce and expensive.
