All About Jewelry Clasps

Jewelry clasps keep pieces like necklaces, bracelets and anklets securely in place, and even though we usually think of clasps as functional components -- or we don't think about them at all -- a designer's ability to choose the best clasp for a piece of jewelry can either enhance or detract from its overall appearance. It's not all about looks though. Ask yourself a few questions about clasps before you buy jewelry. Can you open the clasp easily? Is the jewelry secure when the clasp is closed?
