Peace Sign Pendant Necklaces

Wednesday December 10, 2008
The peace symbol was created in the late 1950's as an artist's representation of the positions used to send flag messages for the letters "N" (for nuclear) and "D" (for disarmament). Peace activists adopted the symbol and since then the image has been reproduced on every type of object imaginable. Actress Aimee Teagarden wore a diamond peace sign pendant to the premier of Journey to the Center of the Earth, and there are thousands of pendants similar to hers in jewelry stores, in different sizes and made from a variety of materials. Michelle Obama often wears a very small peace sign pendant. Prices vary as much as styles do, beginning at just a few dollars and moving upwards as you add precious gems and metals.
