LAPD to Return Rihanna's Borrowed Jewelry

Rihanna was wearing jewelry valued at $1.4 million the night of the Grammys, when she was allegedly beaten by Chris Brown. The jewelry became evidence, and has since been held by the LAPD. Problem is, the jewelry isn't hers, it was on loan, and the owner has no doubt been anxious about how long it would remain in police custody. A judge recently cleared the way for the jewelry's return, ruling that photos of it can be used as evidence.

It isn't unusual for celebrities to borrow jewelry for important events. In this 2008 photo, Rihanna is wearing earrings and other jewelry on loan from Cartier.
