Eighty-four year old Patricia Neal died on Sunday, August 8th. Her film and stage career spanned six decades, and she appeared in numerous films that are regarded as classics. Neal won many awards during her career, including a 1963 Oscar for her role in Hud, with Paul Newman. In 1946, Ms. Neal won a Tony Award for her performance in Another Part of the Forest. Neal had five children with her husband of 30 years, author Ronald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The Witches and Matilda are a few of his works). Her daughter, Olivia, died from measles encephalitis in 1962, when she was just seven years old. Tessa, Theo, Ophelia and Lucy survive their mother.
In recent years, Patricia Neal nearly always wore classic earrings at celebrity events, and usually paired them with multiple necklaces, often beaded but with additional embellishments. She appeared to love wearing a variety of jewelry.
