Carly has been the About.com Guide to Jewelry since 2003. Her love of jewelry began when she was very young, when relatives started Carly's jewelry collection by presenting her with a mixture of vintage and contemporary pieces on birthdays and other special occasions.
Experience:
Carly has taken numerous jewelry making classes and workshops, and courses in enameling are among her favorites. She enjoys creating beaded jewelry. Carly's education in jewelry and its design is ongoing, and in recent years she's focused on precious metals and gems. Carly has a special interest in vintage jewelry and fashions.
Education:
Carly received a B.S. in Interiors and Fashion Merchandising with a Minor in Business Administration from East Carolina University. She also studied fashion design at Kent State University.
Carly is currently pursuing a degree in Art History, with an eventual focus on Museum Studies.
