Born and raised in England, actress Kate Beckinsale is the daughter of two actors, Judy Loe and the late Robert Beckinsale (a British actor well known for his popular sitcom roles). Her older half-sister, Samantha Beckinsale, is also an actress.

Kate's daughter, Lily, was born in 1999 to she and ex-partner Michael Sheen. In 2003, Kate and director/screenwriter Len Wiseman became engaged. They were married the following year.

Kate's movie career began in 1991 with a role in One Against the Wind, and has grown to include many other popular films.
