Joan Crawford's bracelet is similar to jewelry we wear today, but her necklace is far bulkier than the styles we typically see around contemporary necks. The photo shows Crawford in a scene from the MGM film, Our Modern Maidens, with Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.Joan Crawford was born in 1904 and had a long career in films, on stage and on television. She began to drop out of the public's view in 1974 and passed away in 1977.
A year after Joan's death, daughter Christina's book was released. Its title, Mommie Dearest, has become a catchphrase that's often used to describe the scariest moms on the planet. Two of Crawford's other children dispute the book's claims of abuse, but they were much younger than Christina, who has stated they may not have been treated in the same way. All four of Joan Crawford's children were adopted.
