Keeping an eye on the jewelry that celebrities wear to movie premieres is one way to monitor jewelry trends. Some of the jewelry designs that celebrities are wearing now will be on retail shelves in a season or two.
Celebrity Jewelry Worldwide
There's a little bit of everything in this celebrity gallery -- movie premiere jewelry and jewelry on celebrities at all sorts of high-profile events. This photo of Eve was taken at the third annual Loveday celebration and Cartier Love Charity Bracelet launch. Isn't that a gorgeous necklace?
Jewelry at the London & Rome Film Festivals, fall 2008
The number of celebrities who chose not to wear any jewelry at all to the London and Rome film festivals seemed to outweigh those who did, and looking at past events, that seems to be the norm at European celeb gatherings. But there were some nice exceptions, and you'll see fifteen of them in this gallery. Like Natasha Richardson's dressy casual look, topped off by multiple delicate necklases (with bracelets on her wrist). Gwyneth Paltrow's vintage (at least vintage looking) necklace and Penelope Cruz's trendy bangle bracelet.
Jewelry at the Cannes Film Festival, 2008
Most of the women at Cannes had one thing in common -- they wore long drop earrings. Necklaces were a mixed bag, from diamond chokers to long ropes.
'The Women' Premiere
Meg Ryan and Annette Bening both wore large (but narrow) hoops to the premiere of The Women. Eva Mendes was outfitted in Cartier and Debra Messing wore cluster earrings from Neil Lane. Jada Pinkett Smith's jewelry definitely ranked in the bold category -- she wore long chandelier earrings and stacked a group of gorgeous cuff bracelets on one wrist.
'Sex and the City' New York City Premiere
All but one of the Sex and the City main characters went metallic for the film's New York City premiere -- guess which. And the other attendees? Their jewelry was a mixed bag.
'Sex and the City' London Premiere
When in England... Sarah Jessica Parker's whimsical headpiece was a gift from British milliner Philip Treacy. Not too many people could pull off the hat, but I think SJP did it in style. Out there, sure, but it suits her personality, and isn't nearly as outlandish as some of the Hats at Ascot.
2008 Metropolitan Museum Of Art Costume Institute Annual Gala
The theme of the 2008 Costume Institute Gala was Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy. Designer Stella McCartney was draped in blue, with a stack of bracelets on one wrist. Katie Holmes (with Tom one one arm) draped a couple of multi-strand necklaces around her neck. Oh, and look at Kristin Davis -- she's wearing a bib-like necklace, really a cross between a bib and a pendant.
