1. Peace Equals Harmony with Nature, Wooden Jewelry Box
This sculpted wooden jewelry box is shaped like the profile of a woman's face and hand painted to show her smiling as a butterfly lands among the flowers that adorn her head. The jewelry box is lined with velvet.
The artisan who created the design, Gusti Ngurah Semarajaya, uses his artwork to spread awareness about the migratory insects whose sanctuaries are being destroyed worldwide.
2. Standing Jewelry Box
The top drawer of this pretty jewelry box is perfect for rings and the other drawers are more spacious, for storage of larger items. Open the side doors and you'll find hangers for necklaces and bracelets. The jewelry box is made from ash veneer and has a mahogany finish. It is lined in faux suede. A personalized plaque is included, but not affixed to the box. The box measures 8" x 6-1/4" and is 10-1/4" tall.
3. Shagreen-Style Jewelry Box
This high-gloss jewelry box has a lacquered surface that resembles shark skin, but isn't -- well -- offensive. The box exterior is dyed a rich green, sometimes called shagreen. There's space for your rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces in the boxes' central compartment and drawer. It's made from a wood veneer and has a mirrored lid. The lining is sueded cloth hardware is silver-plate.
4. Grand Leather Jewelry Box
Art Deco styled hardware gives this leather jewelry box a vintage appearance. The 14 1/4" x 11 1/4" x 7 3/4" tall box has a mirrored lid. Its eleven specific storage compartments are lined in faux suede. The bottom drawer pulls out and converts to a travel case with a mirror. Another, smaller travel case has a mirrored top, ring holders and divided spaces that keep jewelry separate from its neighbors.
5. Royal Heritage Cat Jewelry Box
This unique jewelry box is carved in the shape of a cat, and represents the Korat felines reserved especially for Thailand's royalty. The little cat is in a playful pose, front crouched and tail curved in the air, ready to pounce on anything interesting that happens to pass by. Nantana Sompamitre carves this unique jewelry box from mango wood and hand paints it with acrylics.
