Jewelry at the Academy Awards

Cirque du Soleil put on an amazing performance at this year's Academy Awards, and so did the host, Billy Crystal. It was a night filled with glamour and class, and the leading ladies stole the show, as always. One trend has been making a comeback lately -- brooches, and some of the most stunning women were wearing them, especially at their waists.

Octavia Spencer won the Oscar for Actress in a Supporting Role, for her work in The Help. She wore a beautiful, sparkling gown and accessorized with chandelier earrings and a large diamond and platinum cocktail ring by Neil Lane. Gwyneth Paltrow presented with her Iron Man love interest, Robert Downey, Jr. She looked breathtaking in a clean-lined white gown -- the only noticeable jewelry she wore were a lovely wide cuff and a floral ring. Emma Stone and Ben Stiller were a laugh as presenters. Emma wore a deep crimson gown, cluster earrings and a fun, chunky bracelet. The women of The Bridesmaids film presented as a group and were hilarious. Many of them were wearing classic diamonds.

One of my personal favorites was Sandra Bullock, wearing rings that went perfectly with the design inlay on her Marchesa gown. The rings were curved into delicate floral patterns that could be worn with a number of other gowns we have seen Sandra wear in the past.
