The evening included performances by many, including musicians who have been part of our lives for decades, Sir Paul McCartney and the Beach Boys. The Band Perry and Blake Shelton offered a musical tribute to Glen Campbell, who announced last year that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and will end his music career after one final album and tour.
The mood was celebratory, yet sombre, and much of the jewelry followed that trend. Many of the ladies wore feminine-looking gowns and accessorized with classic jewelry. The Grecian look we've seen at other recent celebrity gatherings spilled over to the Grammys.
Elegance was a primary theme at the Grammy Awards, and overshadowed over-the-top bling (although yes, you'll see plenty of diamonds and platinum on the women in the gallery). As you browse the photos, remember that fashions at celebrity events always represent huge variations in each person's style -- that's part of what makes red carpets fun for onlookers.
