Princess Diana
Diana wore the Spencer Family Tiara during her 1981 wedding to Prince Charles. The tiara has been refashioned since Lady Sarah Spencer gave it to Cynthia, Viscountess Althorp (Diana's paternal grandmother) as a wedding gift in 1919. Diana wore the tiara to many events.Made from gold formed into tulip and star-like flowers, the tiara is embellished with diamonds in silver settings. It is sometimes on display at Althorp, the Spencer family estate.
In this photo, Princess Diana is shown waving to the crowd as she and Prince Charles return to Buckingham Palace by carriage after their 1981 wedding. Diana's wedding dress was designed by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel.
