piercing gun
- I had my tragus done with a piercing gun. At first, I felt dizzy and had severe headaches with minimal pain on the pierced part. Then after 3 days it seems like it was healing - there's no more pain on my tragus, but there's a lil sticky plasma that always sticks on my outer skin with the earrings. So that's the problem I'm havin now - how to get rid of that problem?

Problems with both
- I currently pierce ears in the mall and have been for over 6 years. I do all the training at my store and can tell you that they are fully trained on actual people that volunteer themselves. We also have a body piercing permit even though we only do ears and with a gun. I had my belly button pierced with of course a needle and it was by a "professional piercer" and it is totally on an angle. I think that you can have problems anywhere. When getting it done at the mall check the dots they make for you -- if you don't you are just dumb.

Only Place Your Trust in Yourself
- Ms. Janet, i know you trusted the doctor but not everyone will take there time and do what's right especially if you are child and it should have been the responsibility of the person who took you there to make sure the piercing was being done correct. I am sorry to see that you had to deal with this all these years that's why its best to learn how to do things like this yourself and yes it's easy to do. That way you get what you want and you get it the right way. Good Luck Next Time and Remember If you wants something done right do it yourself. You Can

Not Being Honest With your client
- First of all Brynn, you yourself were not an honest person. I know it was your job and it's policy, but if you were an honest person you would have spoken up. Don't you know the bible said the truth will set you free. The public took your word, thinking you where telling them the truth, but you weren't.

Piercing At The Mall
- For about a month during high school, I worked for a well-known national retail chain that offers low-cost jewelry aimed at pre-teens and teens. (I won't say the name, but it rhymes with Pears.) All employees had to know how to pierce ears in order to work there. I don't think we were even given a book or a pamphlet to read. My training lasted a day or so. I watched the other employees pierce ears, then I "practiced" on the manager and asst manager. In theory, the whole thing was sterile because we wiped down everything with alcohol wipes and the gun used disposable parts that were kept sealed until needed and tossed after every use. But ultimately it made me uncomfortable to pierce ears with so little training so after piercing a baby's ears (it was a disaster), I quit. If you are going to get it done at the mall, just keep in mind that a newbie is probably the one doing it. And yes, they will say they have done this a million times before. We were told to say we had done it a lot.

Piercing Guns
- I myself don't like gun piercing in the store or mall. I tried it once and it made my ear sore so I learned how to do them myself the way the doctors do for babies. Since than I haven't had a problem. I did my daughter's ears myself because I knew what I wanted and I knew what was about to happen. I wouldn't advise anyone to go into a store or mall and get it done. Learn how to do it yourself and read about the different earrings that are 14k gold and not any of that other stuff that makes people's ears get sore.

Slanted, uneven holes from piercing gun
- My ears were pierced with a gun 40 years ago, at a time when disease transmission wasn't as much of a concern. The piercing was done at a doctor's office and the gun he used was slightly different. It pushed a long, very sharp stainless steel post into a plastic cylinder backing. The lobe on one side is fine. The hole in the opposite lobe angles downward slightly and has always been difficult to deal with. The holes are also slightly uneven. This was obvious operator error - don't let anyone tell you that piercing guns are foolproof.
